Ho Chi Minh Style

Having minimal language skills didn't help one bit. As a foreigner, to be in the know about the great places to visit/shop in HCMC you'd have to either have connections or be able to read Vietnamese very very very well. Luckily we had Tee Lam from Elle Magazine Vietnam. She gave us her view on Vietnam style and showed us around her home town, Ho Chi Minh City.

Chùa Hương

Yesterday this pregnant lady rowed me and six other people for one hour down the Yen River from Chùa Hương just outside Hanoi. You would rarely see a woman this far into her pregnancy work in western society, let alone perform such a physical task. This isn't something to be surprised about in Vietnam, there seems to be no middle class and the majority of people are doing what they need to do in order to raise their family. Despite this fact we see many smiles on our travels.
